PFM-1 Butterfly Mine

Soviet PFM-1 Green Parrot/Butterfly Mine Inert Resin Replica
This item is a museum quality resin replica of a PFM-1 Butterfly Mine. These mines were used by the Soviet Union during their occupation of Afghanistan during the 80's. The PFM-1 aka Butterfly or Green Parrot Mine was used throughout Afghanistan and due to its shape and various shades of Green, Brown and White, it was often, tragically mistaken by children as a toy. The Cyrillic "Y" through the wing indicates that it is a training mine, not a live mine. This reproduction is made from a durable, flexible resin that allows the wing to move without breaking.
This is a good alternative to carrying your expensive and heavy original into the field, or as a Museum Quality display piece. This replica was cast in a silicone mold so it holds all of the detail of the original from which the mold was made. Our replica is cast in a green resin, similar to the original.
(due to the handcast nature of our products, the colors may vary slightly)
TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN. THIS IS A PLASTIC REPRODUCTION, IT WAS NOT, NOR COULD IT EVER, BE CONVERTED INTO AN EXPLOSIVE DEVICE. IT IS PLASTIC AND MADE IN MY WERKSHOP, HERE IN THE USA!!!
Items from theFieldWerks are cast from INERT, demilled originals, unless otherwise stated.
